I was pleasently surprise last year with their City Club album, and I have a friend who is a huge fan of them, so I was meaning to dive deeper into them. When I go on YouTube and read on the comments stuff like “you guys used to rock, now you’re a copy of the Strokes”, I understand (yet don’t share) where these concerns come from. But this is a topic for the day I review City Club. Hung At Heart is a very different album. It’s warm, it’s sunny, it’s really out there. There are bad moments and boring moments, but generally, it’s really enjoyable, specially on a sunny day. Some songs could have been taken out of the tracklist, and you could have a really good 30min album. But there are some other songs here that are just INCREDIBLE in every possible aspect, like Someday and specially One Million Lovers. If you do check this out, don’t focus much on the technical aspects of the album and center on the vibe. You’ll have a good time. 7.5/10.
